WALTHER DATA is a well-established German company. For over 100 years the name WALTHER has stood for precision in engineering. When the company was founded in 1886, pistols and tools were manufactured. In 1923 resourceful developers and engineers produced the first calculator ever sold. After that, it did not take WALTHER long to develop the world’s quickest calculator in 1952.

For 30 years now, WALTHER DATA’s main business has been the development and production of high-precision scanners and special machines used for document recognition and processing. These systems are sold in over 35 countries worldwide – mainly in the banking and finance, energy and communication, medicine and insurance sectors, as well as to service centers.

Specialists for small-format documents and tabletop scanners

WALTHER’s engineers enjoy dealing with small formats: The large range of products does every job that is needed to process small documents all the way down to those the size of check cards, such as scanning and sorting, reading and coding. WALTHER is a specialist for various types of tabletop scanners, that can scan 60 to 250 documents per minute as well as read and sort up to 300 documents per minute. WALTHER scanners and sorters are mainly used to process checks and giro transfer slips, medical prescriptions, order forms and to read/sort all types of small-format documents.

WALTHER’s range of products perfectly completes EDPG’s portfolio to include small-format documents. WALTHER joined EDPG in March of 2005.
